Travelling Inspiration....

Last month I visited Bali for the first time and I fell in love with it...everywhere you turn there's splashes of fluorescent colour, baubles, bells, gold trinkets, multi coloured fruit stalls...infact anywhere i go in South East Asia i fall in love with the patterns and vibrant colours. It serves up a large portion of my inspiration when designing...I always end up lugging home multiple ceramic goods and fabrics! a sample of my latest hoard...

I wish i could have bought every one onf these in Thailand.....

So I got to thinking about all these colours and trinkets and I got inspired tonight to try and 'jazz' up a plain $5 k-mart lamp SE asian style...a little rough around the edges but hey!

 some trinkets i picked up in Legian, Bali...$1.50 each!

Now all i need is a light bulb!!!

Has anyone else travelled somewhere really inspiring recently? I'm always keen to visit new places!

My first ever blog!

Well I've arrived. After 4 hours, 6 cups of tea and an aspirin- my beautiful blog is born!

My computer skills may be slightly below par, but my passion for design is not...this blog will be my little platform to share my musings over all things interior design. I'm currently studying for a diploma in ID and needed somewhere to outlet my creative thinkings, as I do believe my other half has stopped listening to my thoughts on light and texture...

I will endeavour to update 'Goldie the Blog' every week or so...

So today, in my first blog, I would like to congratulate my wonderful in-laws on their gorgeous creation that is:

In just one year they have turned a chicken coop/mouse house into a stunning luxury holiday let- have a look for yourself and by all means book yourself a beautiful weekend away in Sunny Scotland!
